Version Upgrade of CF and introduction of Diego
Scheduled Maintenance Report for anynines
Completed
The scheduled maintenance has been completed. While we were unable to complete the update today, the Diego Backend is now available for testing. Please consult the Cloud Foundry Documentation about moving applications to Diego. We will investigate this issue further and will complete the Update in a downtime free way later this week. We also removed the root cause of the issues that caused the Apps on DEAs to be not available. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this outage.

Greetings
Sven Schmidt

Update
We are investigating an issue where apps on the DEA Infrastructure are not reachable. We are currently migrating those apps to the Diego Backend, which will fix this issue.

Update
We have successfully migrated the Database. We are now spinning up the new Diego Backend. After this is finished, we will migrate all Apps over to the Diego Backend. This will lead to a 1-2 Minute downtime of all apps, because the instance will be restaged.

Update
We successfully upgraded the BOSH director. As a next step we will stop the API and User authentication to move the database backing those two services to another Cluster. Therefore the API will be unavailable until the move is finished.

Scheduled
Hello,

during this Maintenance window we are moving some internal databases to an external cluster, this will lead to a brief API downtime. Following this, we will be upgrading the CF version and replace the DEA backend of Cloud Foundry with Diego. After the upgrade, you will be able to use Docker images when pushing your app in addition to the technologically more advanced Diego infrastructure.

During this update, we expect the following downtimes:
API: 30 Minutes
Service creation and deletion for about 30 minutes, as we upgrade the BOSH instance deploying them.
Apps: All app instances will be restart. If you have multiple instances of your application, this will restart them one by one.

Apps, apart from the aforementioned restart and services will not have a downtime. You will only be unable to push applications, creating service instances or delete them.

We will inform you about every step of this maintenance as it is progressing and which services will be unavailable next.
